Basement show

Zeyad Dejani presents a raised concrete floor and related video in the basement.

A new art fair in a hotel in Vienna, Transmission's room featured the work of Keith Farquhar, Neil Bickerton & Lorna Macintyre, Eva Rothschild, Stuart Purdy, Roger Hiorns, Duncan Campbell, Alex Frost, David Shrigley, Michael Wilkinson and Lucy McKenzie.

A group show loosely based around ideas of humour and failure featuring works by Rebecca Warren, Chris Evans, Matti, Suuronen, Mika Tannila, Glenn Brown, and Caro Bensca. With a short accompanyng essay by Matthew Goulish.

Exchange

Part two of the exchane with Pineapple Project Room, Malmo. The exhibition took place in a cinema space and featured the work of Duncan Campbell, Hayley Tompkins, Sue Tompkins, Scott Myles, Anne-Marie Copestake and Sarah Tripp.

Atelier Van Lieshout

Rotterdam based Joep Van Lieshout presented a selection of equipment, furniture and weaponry produced by his artist's workshop collective.

Hayley Tompkins and Sue Tompkins

The white cube of the Transmission space has been reworked with a diagonal chipboard partition and squares of hessian sackcloth are hung over the walls. Elsewhere there are a number of colourful and exact wall paintings, a display of painted eggs and a hanging group of magazine pages that have been crumpled in the palm of the hand until they assue a soft and shiny form, like leaves." Tobias Rehberger

Tobias Rehberger created an environmental portrait of his friends, Standard Rad (a design company in London and Frankfurt)

& in the basement gallery- Videos by Annika Strom who played a live set of her songs on the opening night.

Jim Lambie

Jim Lambie's first solo show saw the artist covering the floor area of Transmission with concentric lines of multi-colured vinyl tape and included video piece 'Ultralow' in the basement.

The show was followed by a 7 inch record (ZOBOP) and poster of the exhibition published by Transmission and The Showroom in a limited run of 1000. SOLD OUT
