Giles Bailey
This project was developed out of work and research undertaken during the Brooklyn Fire Proof's studio residency in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Focusing largely on the Haskins Laboratory in New Haven, Connecticut the project takes the institution and the city as points from which texts, drawings and video can be developed. The laboratory's work in the science of the spoken and written word provides a framework for approaches to research, scrutiny of history and experiments in language. Assembled fragments, reinterpretations of psychological studies, maps and idiosyncratic memorabilia become elements that interplay to examine the interpretation of science and the structures of academia.

Collaborative project from Simon and Tom Bloor
Simon and Tom Bloor's collaborative practice incorporates texts, images and forms culled from a wide variety of sources, ranging from historic documents to twentieth century design to contemporary popular culture. Combining low-fi materials and pop production values with a strong design sensibility, they reveal hidden connections and obscure histories, creating shifts in contexts that encourage new meanings and alternative interpretations.

Solo Show
Exploring the inevitable incoherence of things this show pits objects against themselves to generate crude combinations in odd sizes. Inspired by Flaubert's literary nobodies Bouvard and Pecuchet, Peter has set out to emulate their exasperated attempts to understand the world by following books and diagrams.

Fred Pedersen and Jonathan Scott
Fred Pedersen
makes photographs of strangers in public and shares his photographs with us in the hope that 'something is gained during the translation of the incident when encountering the photograph in the gallery'.
Jonathan Scott
these works take as their point of departure a specific Glasgow phenomenon, the 'Doocot', an urban dovecote structure often discovered in lonely areas of social neglect.

Collaborative Show
Fiona Jardine
Following on from her interest in the connections and concurrencies between instances and imagery, substance and form in the work of Rabelais, T.S. Eliot, and Brett Easton Ellis, Fiona Jardine has formulated a new and specific group of sculptures for this exhibition.
Will Daniels
Daniels' small scale paintings are derived from paper models and lo-fi Marquette's of famous historical paintings.
Oui We
04 April - 05 May 2006
- blank view original

When Antony Howard first made Oui We, he called it a confrontational comedy/performance documentary. Originally on 16mm film, the work focuses on the relationship between the artist and the audience and one artist's plight for approval.
In the film, Pierre/Tony combs the streets and museums of New York in desperation trying to establish some sort of communication with the world through his painting, sculpture, music and absract body movements. Confronting individuals with his passion and frustration he only finds rejection.
'I LAUGHED, I CRIED, IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAT CATS'.

Group Show
WHEELY is a bus that provides a mobile platform for artists.
WHEELY appeared for the first time as part of 'Open Space' at Art Cologne, 2005. Within the art fair context the project was presented as a work in progress, which was not for sale. All signs of the former use of the bus were got rid of ready for future exhibitions and journeys yet to come..
