I have a strong interest in the intersection of contemporary art practice and ethnography. My work facilitates the instigation or investigation of an event or social practice, and then presents an outcome containing documentary-style and constructed elements. As such, my practice is situated in between the definition of a reality or fictionalisation. I have interests in language, expression, narration, collage and field recorded elements. I am interested in focusing on the incongruous, in making the familiar unfamiliar or strange and abstracted. Of interest is the influence of the Fluxus movement as highlighting the presentation of art in relation to the everyday, and the position of traditional gaming culture and new media to present an alternative experience of life and emersion with real and/or fictional environments.

My research is influenced by the theoretical writings into the position of art in relationship to the quotidian. (Sutton-Smith, 1997, The Ambiguity of Play, Galloway, Gaming: Essays on Algorithimic Culture, Jonstone, Art and the Everyday and Scheider and Wright, Contemporary Art and Anthropology).
