Much of my work has strong links with music. I am not primarily trying to illustrate anything but rather trying to find a pictorial equivalent to musical language. I think there are links between music and the visual arts - they have,for instance, a shared vocabulary,eg., composition, colour, texture, tonality etc., and I feel these links can be exploited.

Composers whose work I have used include Bartok, Janacek, Ives, Tippett, Britten,Messiaen, Berg, Delius, Carter, Wagner, Nielsen,Sibelius.
