The work seeks to challenge the fundamental vectors of thought, process, drama and tension between support and contextualization. Cole’s continual interest lies within the ambiguous conflation between desiccation and reclamation of the visual construct/image. Focusing on the underlying problems of how we think about critical, spatial and contextual spheres of art-making - the artworks fastidiously strive to invoke, change and supplement the veritable and unpredictable strands of material. This rhetoric can be seen as part of an on-going strategy in dealing with the variable geometries of architectural space which ostensibly fashions the parameters of how Cole’s work is presented.

T Christy Cole studied at Glasgow School of Art (1998-2001) and again between (2004-2006), gaining an MFA. Glasgow based, Cole has exhibited widely within Scotland and Europe. Installations of sculptural objects, collages and film have drawn upon a range of creative / linguistic /revisionist concerns including references to the work of artists’ in the fields of live performance, music, theatre, photography, abstract film & fashion. Cole Often works in dialogue with previous works - referring back, incorporating them, or working in series - and in dialogue, or collaboration, with other artists. Recent work explores the varying impacts between viewer/object -focusing on the complexities of representation through material application via fabric and collage installation.
