Transmission SAC/ National Lottery CAPITAL GRANT FUNDRAISING SCHEME May 12th 2009
In January 2009, Transmission received the welcome news that the gallery had been successful in applying for a Scottish Arts Council/National Lottery Capital Grant of £37,746.00 to build a new office and resource room at its former premises at 28 King St as part of the relocation to the new Trongate 103 development.
This grant will facilitate the fitting and equipping of the new office, resource room and workshop and will also provide digital documentation equipment with which to record exhibitions and events in the future.
This represents a new phase in the development of the gallery and helps to realise long-held ambitions to make the gallery’s history and exhibition material available to all members and gallery visitors on a sustainable basis. As part of the funding agreement Transmission has agreed to raise £4,000.00 and seeks to do so through donations and one-off fundraising events.
It is recognised that Transmission’s success has long been attributed to the direct involvement of a large and dedicated membership and it is felt that the ambition to develop the gallery in this way reflects Transmission’s dedication to being at the forefront of artist led activity. By insuring Transmission fulfils its obligation to this generous grant means that the gallery will be able to offer members and those that show at the gallery the best possible facilities to pursue artistic excellence long into the future.
We are extremely grateful to anyone who would like to make a one-off donation and appreciate your continued support,
Kind Regards,
Your committee: Salomeh Grace, Levi Hanes, Conal Mc Stravick,
Victoria Skogsberg, Jens Stranberg & HelenTubridy
